About Us

Building Financial Strength Since 2005

Biashara Tosha Sacco, formerly Gastameco Sacco Ltd, was established to help members access reliable and affordable financial services. The Sacco operates through BOSA (Back Office Services Activity) and FOSA (Front Office Service Activity).

To mobilize savings and provide affordable and diversified products and services to our members in order to uplift their living standards.

To be a Sacco of excellence in our area of operation.

Our Objectives

Guiding Principles of the Sacco

  1. To promote thrift among its members by providing opportunities for accumulating savings and deposits, and provision of credit exclusively for provident and productive purposes at fair and reasonable interest rates, thereby enabling members to use and control their money for mutual benefit.
  2. To ensure progress of its members and society through continuous education programs on savings, proper use of credit, poverty reduction, human dignity, and co-operative values.
  3. To ensure personal growth through the introduction of new products and services that promote the economic base of members.
  4. To perform all functions and exercise powers designated for Savings and Credit Co-operative Societies under applicable law for the benefit of members.
  5. To co-operate with other co-operatives in order to promote members’ interests and, in furtherance of this objective, affiliate with National Co-operative organizations.
  6. To perform, within the relevant law (the Act, the Rules) and these by-laws, all acts, deeds, and things necessary to enhance, promote, and encourage members’ welfare as approved by the Annual General Meeting.
Membership

Growing Stronger Together

The Sacco membership has grown steadily over the years, reaching 4,433 members in 2019. Based on projections, the Sacco is expected to maintain a modest growth rate of 10% in 2020 and 5% annually thereafter.

This growth momentum is projected to increase membership to 6,223 members by 2025, with an estimated 85% likelihood of members having fully paid their share capital — strengthening the Sacco’s financial base and sustainability.
